Keep in mind that foreign cars are often domestically produced, particularly in the south. Even the great state of Mississippi is building a massive Toyota plant near Tupelo.

I believe that Barack truly knows what time it is and what needs to be done IF given the chance. The problem is that at this rate we may never see what could have been. If Hillary is not knocked out the box immediately she will take it home! And believe that she is in it to win it, by any means neccesary...

Very interesting commentary and I tend to agree. Obama is going to have to show force and stop being the nice guy. That move may not go over well with the general public but with the powers that be it may give him the win. I agree that if she is allowed to regain her footing she will sucker punch him and he will be done.
but if Barack doesn't take the win this election he wont get it next election because the party will already know his weaknesses and that will work against him. I think for Barack and for the rest of us it is now or never...

Your argument for number 3 does not sit well with me, and I don't really 'get' it to be honest.

None of us, black nor white, has any right to question anyone else's racial identity. Everything you say about Obama's 'blackness' is based on your own, very limited outsider's perspective on his life - and your own ideas of what it means to be black which you are projecting on to him. You have no idea what Obama experienced in his life - you are only making assumptions.

It seems strange that you could say that even if Clinton experienced racism positively, by benefitting from it, he is still able to understand its (negative) impact on black people.

The idea that 'blackness is an experience not a skin colour' is disingenous since we all know that our experience as black people is shaped BY our skin colour.

It's one thing to say that you believe Bill Clinton has some grasp on and understanding of the experience of black people, but to say that he is 'blacker' seems bizarre. It's like saying that you can only be black if you talk in ebonics and live in the projects.

By the way, I am black and from England. Blackness and whiteness do not only exist in America.

Allen Greenspan said in his book that the state of the economy is more a function of the mood of the people than the economic fundamentals we use to forecast economic growth. With that said, even if Barak makes us "feel good" and nothing else, positive and optimistic citizens are fundamentally important to an economy.

Yes, I do. Ron Jones, first black mayor of Garland, Texas and Linda Griffin, first black female school board president. I believe she is the first black prez, and the second black school board member. the first was Jim Culp about 15 years ago I believe.
